Hackers for Good Opens 25,000 Slots in Free Cybersecurity Courses. Training Includes Leveling and Basic, with Certificate and Access to the Networking Hub.
Brazil has just gained a new opportunity to train specialists in technology. The Hackers for Good program announced the opening of 25,000 slots for its free courses in cybersecurity, aimed at young people and adults who have completed or are finishing high school.
An Action to Prepare the Country Against Digital Threats
The Hackers for Good was created to strengthen digital protection in the country and train qualified workforce for a constantly expanding market.
Since January 2024, the initiative has already trained over 36,000 people, establishing itself as one of the largest cybersecurity training experiences in the world.

The project is funded by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), within the Priority Program in Informatics (PPI) coordinated by Softex, and is executed by the National Education and Research Network (RNP), in partnership with Senai-SP.
How the Courses Work
The training has been designed in five levels of learning, allowing students to progress gradually: Leveling, Basic, Fundamental, Specialization, and In-Person Residency.
This structure ensures both an introduction to the world of cybersecurity and a deeper focus on more complex topics.
The activities are online and conducted by the Higher School of Networks (ESR), the educational branch of RNP.
In addition to classes, students participate in practical exercises that simulate real digital security situations.
What Will Be Offered in This Stage
At this stage, two main courses are available.
The Leveling Course, with 80 hours of duration, presents essential concepts such as programming logic, networks, internet, and hardware basics.
The Basic Course, with 64 hours, covers more advanced topics such as cloud computing, system development, cryptography, cyber attack identification, and practices related to governance and compliance.
These modules serve as a foundation for those who intend to advance to more technical and detailed paths in the future.
Impact and Recognition
According to Leandro Guimarães, deputy director of ESR, the success of Hackers for Good already positions the program among the largest in the world in the area.
“This success has allowed for the opening of new slots, increasing access for young people and professionals to opportunities to enter the cybersecurity market. We remain committed to preparing talent for a safer and more connected future,” he stated.
Certification and Networking Hub
At the end of the journey, participants receive certification and become part of the Hackers for Good Hub.
The virtual space offers an environment for networking, project sharing, experience exchange, and access to the latest trends in the cybersecurity sector.
Registrations opened on September 12 and can be made exclusively on the initiative’s website.
