With the expansion of the Open University System of Brazil (UAB), UFSCar has opened applications for the formation of a reserve pool of EAD tutors, professionals who will directly contribute to guiding and supporting students in distance undergraduate courses.
The demand is growing, and if you meet the requirements, this could be your chance to solidify your name in the educational job market, especially in a context where digital education is becoming essential.
Requirements for Application
To apply for one of the tutor positions, you must have a degree in Special Education or a Post-Graduation (Stricto Sensu or Lato Sensu) in the same area.
In addition, experience is a key factor: at least one year of teaching experience, whether in basic or higher education, is a prerequisite to ensure that candidates are prepared for the demands and challenges that distance education imposes.
Knowledge in educational technologies is also essential, and candidates must have digital literacy and the necessary technological resources to perform their duties remotely.
According to the selection notice, approved tutors will work a load of 20 hours per week, dedicating themselves to supporting students in their online courses. Although the process is for a reserve pool, convocations may occur as the demand for new tutors arises in the courses linked to the UAB System at UFSCar.
Important Dates for the Selection Process
Online registration and submission of documentation have been open since September 3, 2024, and interested parties have until 11 AM on September 26, 2024 to complete the entire process.
It’s worth remembering that it is also during this period that candidates must declare whether they have ties to any member of the Preliminary Judging Commission.
On September 26, 2024, the definitive list of members of the Judging Commission will be disclosed, and participants will be able to follow the next steps of the selection process.
The result of the scoring and ranking of candidates will be known on November 6, 2024.
From that date, those who wish can file an appeal until 5 PM on November 7, 2024 to contest the result. Finally, the final result, after analysis of resources, will be announced on November 12, 2024.

All of this, of course, mediated by digital teaching platforms that allow for remote interaction.
