Failure in the payroll of the GDF and the BRB caused duplicate deposits for retirees and delayed salaries for health workers, especially among those who use bank portability. The issue was officially recognized, mobilized reports on social media, and was regularized by the end of the afternoon.
An error in the payroll processing between the Government of the Federal District and the Bank of Brasília (BRB) caused, this Tuesday, duplicate deposits for some retirees and, at the same time, left workers without receiving their salaries at the expected time.
The problem mainly affected workers linked to the Health Department of the Federal District, especially those who use bank portability to transfer their salaries to other institutions, reported the portal Metrópoles this Tuesday (07).
Error in the payroll affected retirees and workers of the DF
The failure was confirmed by the Economy Department of the DF, which attributed the inconsistency to a double communication of the payroll of retirees to the BRB.

According to the department, the payroll information is passed on by the Institute of Social Security of the Federal District, Iprev, and also by the Health Department, which led to the duplicate sending and triggered the payment issues.
In practice, the inconsistency produced two simultaneous effects. On one hand, some retirees received double payments.
On the other hand, workers who depend on portability reported blocks on the transfers, because the source account linked to the Health Department reportedly had a negative balance after the duplication recorded in the processing.
It was this mismatch that interrupted the credit for some workers throughout the morning.
Bank portability amplified impact among health workers
The first information about the problem circulated among the workers themselves early on, when reports began to emerge that salaries had not been deposited into their usual accounts.
Among the most affected were professionals from the Health Department, who began sharing messages about withholdings, blocks, and absence of bank credit, a scenario that increased insecurity among those who depended on the deposit to meet daily expenses.
In a statement, the Economy Department confirmed the occurrence and informed that the duplication specifically involved the payroll of retirees sent to the BRB.
The department stated that the bank was working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
The BRB stated that it had identified a “specific” inconsistency and said that the case was treated immediately, without detailing at that moment how many workers or retirees had been directly affected.
Economy Department and BRB recognized inconsistency
While the government and the bank informed that they were working to normalize the payments, health workers continued to report the absence of credit.
Some records shared throughout the day showed the frustration of those who expected their salary and did not see the amount enter their account.
Amid the repercussions, a worker even sarcastically commented on the duplicate payments received by retirees, writing: “I thought it was a gift”, a phrase that circulated on social media.
The episode had an immediate impact because it involved remuneration of active workers and benefits of retirees in the same faulty processing.
Although the technical origin pointed out by the government was the double communication of the payroll, the concrete effect appeared at the end, with retirees surprised by credits beyond what was expected and workers without access to salaries at the beginning of the day.
Payments were regularized by the end of the afternoon
Around 5 PM, the Economy Department reported that the problem had been resolved and that all affected workers received their due salaries.
In the case of the duplicate deposits, the department stated that the BRB collected the excess amounts paid, ending the inconsistency recorded throughout this Tuesday.
The update is included in the published and revised version of the information about the case.
With the regularization announced by the end of the afternoon, the episode began to be treated by the government as an operational failure that has now been resolved.
Still, the occurrence exposed the sensitivity of payroll processing for categories that depend on credit on the scheduled date and showed how technical problems of this nature have an immediate effect on retirees, pensioners, and workers of the district administration.
