São Paulo Company Seeks Partnerships with Sector Developers to Create Consortiums Focused on Self-Production of Clean Energy Aiming for Sustainability and Cost Reduction.
Sabesp (SBSP3) announced that it is structuring renewable energy generation projects. The measure aims to make its operation more sustainable and efficient. The company expects to reduce its electricity costs.
Focus on Sustainability and Cost Reduction with Renewable Energy
Sabesp’s initiative to invest in renewable energy has clear objectives. The company seeks a more sustainable operation. It also aims for greater efficiency in its processes. Consequently, the sanitation company expects a significant reduction in its electricity costs. This is an important strategic goal.
Structuring Consortiums for Self-Production of Clean Energy
In a statement to the market, Sabesp outlined its plans. The company informed that it has been negotiating documents with specialized developers in the sector. The purpose of these negotiations is the creation of consortiums. Such consortiums will be dedicated to exploring self-production projects of electric energy. It is important to emphasize that this energy will come from renewable sources.
-
While heat evaporates water from reservoirs and countries seek new areas for clean energy, Morocco is testing floating solar panels that function as an energy lid and also generate electricity.
-
China occupies the desert with a 2 GW solar power plant in Inner Mongolia, installs elevated panels that create shade and humidity over the sand, and transforms a 2.96 billion kWh per year farm into an unexpected weapon against desertification.
-
Saudi Arabia is building in Oxagon a US$ 8.4 billion mega green hydrogen plant with 4 GW of solar and wind energy, 5.6 million solar panels, and capacity to produce 600 tons per day, transforming the desert into one of the planet’s largest clean fuel factories.
-
Germany and Denmark will transform Bornholm into a Baltic power island, connecting 3 GW of offshore wind power to the grids of the two countries via submarine cables and turning a real island into an international energy hub.
According to Sabesp, the renewable energy generated from these future projects will have a priority destination. It will mainly be used in the company’s own operations. This reinforces the commitment to energy self-sufficiency and sustainability.
Approvals and Conditions for Renewable Energy Projects
For the projects to materialize, several steps are crucial. The documents being negotiated still need the approval of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade). Furthermore, the implementation of the projects is subject to other conditions. Among them is the signing of definitive and binding documents, as the company added. Sabesp is therefore following the necessary procedures to make these important initiatives in the field of renewable energy.
