Authorized Activities for Operation of Development of Production and Flow of Lula Extremo Sul through FPSO P-69, from the Pre-Salt Polo of the Santos Basin

The FPSO P-69 vessel is released to produce in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. IBAMA granted the Operating License for the unit, which will be allocated in the Extremo Sul module of the Lula field. According to Petrobras, the platform is expected to start operating in this quarter.

The license issued by IBAMA has 35 conditions for operation, including projects for monitoring aquatic mammals such as whales and dolphins, the impact of platforms and vessels on birdlife in the Santos Basin, fishing activities, beach activities, an environmental education project including workers in this didactics, among other conditions. The entity also defined the development of a project for pollution control.

With the capacity to process 150,000 barrels of oil and 6 million cubic meters of gas daily, the platform has a structure capable of storing 1.6 million barrels of oil and will operate at a depth of 2,200 meters. The ship is 288 meters long, 54 meters wide, and 31.5 meters high and was built at the Cosco shipyard in Zhoushan, China.

This “Stage 2 of the pre-salt,” as it is called, is conducted in a regional licensing process that encompasses seven Early Production Systems (EPS), 13 structures for production development, 15 sections of pipeline, including P-69.
