The New SES SP Contest Is About to Be Launched! The State Health Department of São Paulo Received Authorization to Open a Selection Process That Could Offer Hundreds of Positions for Candidates with High School and Higher Education Levels.
For those waiting for the announcement of a new contest from the State Health Department of São Paulo (SES SP), there is good news! Governor Tarcísio de Freitas published, in the state’s official diary this Tuesday (29), the authorization for a new SES SP contest with 798 vacancies in the Health Services Coordination.
The Last Contest of the State Health Department of São Paulo Took Place in 2011
Through the realization of a new contest from the State Health Department of São Paulo or eventual convening of remaining candidates, in case of contest and validity for any position. The vacancies are for careers with high school and higher education levels, with starting salaries of up to R$ 18,301.40.
It is worth mentioning that in April, Eleuses Paiva, the health secretary, in a meeting with the Health Commission of the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo (Alesp), had announced the selection. At the time, he announced the expectation of approximately 1,500 vacancies. However, there is still no forecast for when the announcement for the SES SP contest registrations will be published.

It is worth mentioning that the last major government authorization for the public contest of SES SP was announced in 2011, by then-governor Geraldo Alckmin, for the filling of 3,266 vacancies, which included 837 positions for nursing assistants, 700 for doctors, 500 for nurses, and another 150 health service assistants.
Since then, only specific authorizations have been issued for certain positions or specific institutions.

In the SES SP contest, for high school education, the authorized vacancies are for the following positions:
Nursing Technician
This position in the SES SP contest has 350 vacancies, with a starting salary of R$ 2,013.80, in the case of 50% of the Incentive Prize, and R$ 2,387.60 in the case of 100%.
Health Official
50 vacancies with a starting salary of R$ 1,977.80 in case of 50% of the Incentive Prize and R$ 2,315.60 in the case of 100%.
For higher education, the public contest has the following vacancies:
Technical Health Assistance Agent
50 vacancies, with a starting salary of R$ 2,430.80 in the case of 50% of the Incentive Prize and R$ 3,221.60 for 100%.
Nurse
185 vacancies with a starting salary of R$ 2,881.86 for 50% of the Prize and R$ 3,931.98 for 100%.
Physician I (163 Vacancies)
In the case of doctors, the authorization does not specify the working hours. The compensation varies as follows:
- 12 hours per week – R$ 3,416.61 for 50% of the Medical Productivity Prize (PPM) and R$ 4,739.87 for 100%;
- 20 hours per week – R$ 5,695.17 for 50% of the PPM and R$ 7,900.60 for 100%;
- 24 hours per week – R$ 6,833.26 for 50% of the PPM and R$ 9,479.76 for 100%;
- 40 hours per week – R$ 13,890.55 for 50% of the PPM and R$ 18,301.40 for 100%.
How Was the Last Public Contest?
The objective test of general and specific knowledge from the last Contest of the State Health Department of São Paulo consisted of 60 multiple choice questions, with five alternatives for selecting a single answer.
The stage was held in the cities of São Paulo (SP), Campinas (SP), Marília (SP), and São José do Rio Preto (SP) and included subjects such as:
- 07 questions of Portuguese Language;
- 10 questions of Public Administration Basics/Public Policies;
- 03 questions of Basics of Information Technology;
- 10 questions of Basics of Sanitary Surveillance and Public Health;
- 30 questions of Specific Knowledge.
The test was scored on a scale of 0 to 100 points, with candidates who scored 50 points or higher considered qualified.
