The used car market expands the offering of automatic cars with different levels of power, fuel consumption, and equipment, bringing together mid-size sedans and pickup trucks with good interior space, automatic transmission, and wide availability of parts, factors that help explain the constant demand for these models in Brazil.
Used automatic cars remain among the most sought-after alternatives for those seeking comfort in urban traffic, ease of daily driving, and good resale value, with options ranging from traditional mid-size sedans to diesel pickup trucks designed for heavy-duty work.
In this scenario, Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Cruze, Volkswagen Jetta, Toyota Hilux, and Honda Civic frequently appear in listings, featuring conventional automatic transmissions, CVT transmission, spacious trunks, and versions with a good level of equipment, distributed across different price ranges.

In this configuration, the mechanical setup features a 1.8 flex-fuel engine with up to 136 hp and 17.5 kgfm paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, a solution considered simple today, but recognized for its durability and predictable maintenance history.
Additionally, the sedan offers a 2.60 m wheelbase and a 437-liter trunk, providing adequate interior space for daily use, along with items such as digital air conditioning, power steering, power windows and locks, ABS brakes, and front airbags.
Automatic Chevrolet Cruze: complete package and six airbags
In an intermediate range, the first-generation Chevrolet Cruze established its presence among used mid-size sedans by combining a good level of equipment with a six-speed automatic transmission and a naturally aspirated flex-fuel engine.
Under the hood, the model delivers up to 144 hp and 18.9 kgfm, with an approximate fuel consumption of 6.6 km/l in the city and 9.3 km/l on the highway with ethanol, numbers consistent with the technical specifications released at the time of sale.
Inside, the LTZ version stands out by featuring six airbags, stability and traction controls, digital air conditioning, MyLink multimedia center, a rearview camera, and keyless entry, as well as a power-adjustable driver’s seat.
Used Volkswagen Jetta: highlight on the large trunk
On the other hand, the Volkswagen Jetta of this generation attracts consumers who prioritize interior space and luggage capacity, maintaining its proposition as a mid-size sedan with a more refined finish compared to direct competitors.
In the more affordable automatic versions, there are units with a 2.0 flex-fuel engine with 120 hp and a six-speed automatic transmission, while Highline configurations feature the 2.0 TSI, with superior performance and higher maintenance costs.
One of the main differentiators is the 510-liter trunk, accompanied by a 2.65 m wheelbase, in addition to items such as digital air conditioning, leather seats in some units, cruise control, and a multifunction steering wheel.
Automatic Toyota Hilux: 4×4 traction and heavy-duty use
In a different category, the automatic diesel Toyota Hilux SRV caters to those who need mechanical strength, load capacity, and 4×4 traction with a low-range gearbox for off-road use or professional activities.
Equipped with a 3.0 turbo diesel engine, the pickup delivers up to 171 hp and 36.7 kgfm, always paired with a five-speed automatic transmission, with a reference fuel consumption of around 9.5 km/l in the city and 11.2 km/l on the highway.
The structure also reinforces its utilitarian profile, with a 3.08 m wheelbase, a load capacity of nearly 1,000 kg, and a truck bed of around 1,000 liters, features that help sustain the constant demand in the used car market.
Automatic CVT Honda Civic: balance between performance and technology
The most recent among the models mentioned, the tenth-generation Honda Civic raised the standard for mid-size sedans by incorporating more onboard technology, while maintaining a good reputation for comfort and drivability.
In the EXL 2.0 version, the powertrain delivers up to 155 hp and 19.5 kgfm with a CVT transmission, offering a reference fuel consumption of 7.2 km/l in the city and 8.9 km/l on the highway with ethanol, in addition to a 2.70 m wheelbase that favors internal space.
The equipment package includes six airbags, stability and traction controls, dual-zone digital air conditioning, a multimedia center, a rearview camera, keyless entry and push-button start, in addition to leather seats and an electronic parking brake.
In the used car market, units of this generation’s Civic EXL often appear with values higher than the initial range mentioned, with recent ads placing the model closer to BRL 100,000, especially for versions between 2017 and 2019.
