The Central Bank of Brazil (Bacen) is about to publish the announcement for the awaited competition that will offer 100 positions for the analyst role. The selection process will require a higher education degree and promises an attractive initial salary of R$ 20,924.80. The announcement is expected to be published by the 15th of the month, according to information from JC Concursos.
The Central Bank competition will be organized by Cebraspe and will offer positions in two distinct areas: information technology (infrastructure, network, and development) and economics/finance, with 50 positions each. The distribution of positions for each area will be as follows:
- Information Technology: 37 positions for open competition, 3 for individuals with disabilities, and 10 for black candidates.
- Economics and Finance: Same distribution of positions as the information technology area.
Requirements, Salary, and More Information About the Central Bank Competition
Candidates interested in competing for an analyst position at the Central Bank must have a higher education degree in any field. The initial salary offered is R$ 20,924.80.

The selection process will include objective and essay tests, scheduled to take place between March and April 2024. Those who pass will undergo a training program between September and October 2024, with admission expected between February and March 2025.
Expectations and Shortage of Employees at the Central Bank
Bacen expects to receive around 50,000 applications for the 100 positions offered. However, even with this offer, the shortage of employees will remain significant. Currently, the analyst career has 5,309 positions, of which only 2,771 are filled, creating a need for 2,538 employees.
The Central Bank does not rule out the possibility of calling more approved candidates during the validity period of the competition. The director of relationships, citizenship, and conduct supervision at Bacen, Mauricio Moura, stated that the intention is to negotiate with the government for the calling of remaining candidates.
The last Bacen competition took place in 2013, offering 500 positions for technical and analyst roles. The initial salary varied between R$ 5,158.23 and R$ 14,289.24. The stages of the competition included objective tests, essay tests, title analysis (only for analysts), and a training program for the approved candidates. The allocations were distributed in Brasília (DF), Belém (PA), São Paulo (SP), Salvador (BA), and Porto Alegre (RS).
