According to the Official State Gazette, on January 29, the waiver of the bidding process was published, officially contracting Fundatec (Foundation University Enterprise of Technology and Sciences) as the organizing committee for the event.
Consequently, the announcement of the public notice is imminent. The contract signed between the institution and the state government has an estimated value of R$ 2 million.
Positions and Call-Up
The new contest will offer 400 positions for soldiers, a position that requires high school education. It is expected that the approved candidates will be called in two phases:
- October 2025 – First Call
- April 2026 – Second Call
The selection is part of a larger investment package in public safety, which includes 2,700 new positions distributed among the Military Police, Civil Police, and Fire Department.
Job Responsibilities
The soldiers of the Fire Department perform essential functions for the safety of the population. Among the main responsibilities are:
- Response to fire and rescue incidents;
- Action in natural disasters and environmental emergencies;
- Aquatic, terrestrial, and high-angle rescue;

Requirements for Participation
To apply for one of the positions, interested parties must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Brazilian citizen;
- Be between 18 and 25 years old;
- Have a minimum height of 1.65m (men) or 1.60m (women);
- Be up to date with electoral obligations;
- Not be facing a criminal charge;
- Not have a conviction with a custodial sentence or any other legal impediment for the position;
- Be up to date with military obligations (for men);
- Not have been exempted from military service due to permanent physical incapacity;
- Hold a National Driver’s License (CNH) category “B” or higher.
Contest Stages
The selection process is expected to follow a model similar to the last contest conducted by the Fire Department of RS. The likely stages include:
- Intellectual Exam (written test);
- Health Exam;
- Physical Fitness Exam;
- Psychological Exam.
