The Turbines Were Manufactured by General Electric for the Porto de Sergipe I Thermoelectric Complex, Under Celse’s Command
Sergipe has much to celebrate, everything is going smoothly for the state’s newest energy venture. The Porto de Sergipe I Thermoelectric Complex, under the management of CELSE and located in the city of Barra dos Coqueiros, has just received the turbines that will be installed in the project and were developed by General Electric (GE), featuring state-of-the-art technology.

So far, there are 3 turbines of the 7HA type, gas-powered, and according to the Book of Records, they are the most efficient on the planet to date. GE invested about US$2 billion to develop this type of technology, and there is nothing similar on the market, mainly due to the fact that they pollute 90% less than conventional diesel-powered turbines.

=Being the largest private sector investment to date, the Porto de Sergipe I Thermoelectric Complex was budgeted at R$6.4 billion, and after the completion of the works, it will break all records on our continent, becoming the largest natural gas thermoelectric in Latin America.
In addition to the thermoelectric plant, the complex consists of some offshore terminals and live energy transmission lines, which are annexes of the LNG regasification system, including the gas pipeline. To enable this new phase of the venture, CELSE signed contractual agreements to finance them through banks and other entities.
