This action aims to promote diversity in the academic environment and ensure training opportunities for all, without distinction.
Research Lines: Choose Your Area of Expertise
The program offers candidates the opportunity to delve into one of four research lines that cover highly relevant themes for Brazilian and international education.
The available areas of study are:
- Line I: Educational Contexts and Daily Life and the Formation of Teaching Staff
- Line II: Arts in Educational Contexts
- Line III: Human Rights, Education, and Technologies
- Line IV: Education, Cultures, Languages, and Social Practices
Each of these research lines is supervised by highly qualified faculty with extensive experience in the specific areas.
The alignment between the research project and the candidate’s areas of interest ensures the production of relevant knowledge with social impact, one of the pillars of higher education at UERGS.
Selection Process: Challenges and Stages
The selection process will consist of two distinct stages, requiring preparation and dedication from the candidates.
The first stage consists of an eliminatory in-person written test, which will take place in Osório, Rio Grande do Sul.
The content covered will relate to the chosen research line and the candidate’s advisor, with evaluation criteria based on linguistic correction, thematic alignment, and coherence in theoretical argumentation.
The second stage of the selection process is a curriculum analysis and interview or project proposal defense.
For the Master’s, the candidate will be assessed based on their curriculum (Lattes model) and will undergo an in-person interview.
For the Doctorate, in addition to the curriculum analysis, the candidate must present and defend a research proposal, allowing evaluators to understand the depth and feasibility of the research proposal.
The final classification will be weighted according to the following criteria:
- Master’s: The interview will have a weight of 8 and the curriculum a weight of 2.
- Doctorate: The proposal defense will have a weight of 7 and the curriculum a weight of 3.
Additionally, there will be a separate classification for the slots designated for affirmative actions, ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates.
