The Zilda Arns Popular Coursing was born with the objective of leveling the field of opportunities.
Created by students from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Unicamp (FCM), the project aims to serve low-income young people who study or have studied in public or private schools with full scholarships.
More than just preparing for the entrance exam, the coursing aims to be a bridge to the realization of academic and professional dreams.
One of the main characteristics of the coursing is the commitment to diversity. There are places reserved for black, brown, indigenous, transgender people, those with disabilities, and refugees.
This not only makes the project inclusive, but it also reflects an effort to repair structural inequalities in society.
With in-person classes from Monday to Friday, from 6:45 PM to 10:45 PM, students have access to robust content designed for Brazil’s most competitive entrance exams.
On weekends, mock exams reinforce learning and help consolidate the content.
Methodology and Social Impact
The structure of the coursing has been designed to offer accessible education without compromising quality.
The subjects cover the requirements of the main entrance exams, while the volunteers who teach the classes are graduates or excellent students from Unicamp itself.
This direct connection to the university ensures high-quality teaching, as well as a close and motivating approach.
The mock exams, administered on weekends, serve as a thermometer for students to evaluate their progress and identify areas for improvement.
Additionally, students participate in activities and workshops that help develop important skills for academic and professional life.
Since its inception, the project has been responsible for approving hundreds of young people in public and private universities, changing realities and creating inspiring stories.
Who Can Participate in the Coursing
The coursing is aimed at students in the 3rd year of high school or those who have already completed their studies.
However, there are socioeconomic criteria that are analyzed at the time of enrollment to prioritize the most vulnerable candidates.
After enrollment, candidates undergo a socioeconomic evaluation and a selection test. This process is essential to ensure that the spots are allocated to those who truly need them.
Enrollment: Limited Deadline and Symbolic Fee
Enrollment is already open and will continue until December 20, 2024. To participate, it is necessary to fill out the online form and pay a symbolic fee of R$ 45.
Although the amount is low, it is essential to cover part of the project’s operational costs. But be careful: since the number of spots is limited, it is crucial not to wait until the last minute.
