The Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) is accepting applications for a free distance learning specialization course (EAD) focused on municipal public sustainability.
The initiative aims to train professionals to implement sustainable practices in public management, directly contributing to the development of Brazilian cities.
According to the institution, the course is a unique opportunity for those looking to enhance their knowledge in the field and act more efficiently in urban environmental solutions.

Course Details and Workload
According to UFJF, the specialization is offered by the Center for Distance Education (CEAD) and has a minimum workload of 450 hours, distributed over 18 months.
The course includes the Final Paper (TCC) and employs a methodology focused on the technical and practical training of students.
Academic activities will take place in a Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), allowing flexibility for participants.
However, there will be mandatory in-person meetings at support centers, ensuring a deeper understanding of the topics covered.

UFJF has made available 150 spots, distributed among six Distance Learning (EAD) centers in Minas Gerais:
- Belo Horizonte – 25 spots
- Cataguases – 25 spots
- Conselheiro Lafaiete – 25 spots
- Paraisópolis – 25 spots
- Sabará – 25 spots
- São Sebastião do Paraíso – 25 spots
Target Audience: Who Can Apply?
The course is aimed at graduates in any field of knowledge, provided they have a diploma recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC).
The primary target audience for the specialization is municipal public managers who wish to enhance their knowledge about sustainability applied to public administration.
Additionally, professionals from the third sector can also benefit from the specialization, broadening their skills to develop and implement sustainable projects in their communities.
Selection Process: Stages and Candidate Evaluation
The selection of participants will take place in two eliminatory stages:
Document Analysis – verification of the documents required for enrollment.
Intent Letter Evaluation – candidates will be scored from 0 to 100 points based on the following criteria:
- Personal Presentation and Relevance of the Course to Career (20 points)
- Justification for Choosing the Support Center (20 points)
- Knowledge of Technological Tools (20 points)
- Availability of Time to Dedicate to the Course (20 points)
- Adherence to Standard Portuguese Language Norms (10 points)
- Compliance with the Editorial Guidelines of the Announcement (10 points)
