Federal University of Maranhão Opens New Selection Process for Teachers. Those Approved in the UFMA Public Contest Will Have Salaries Exceeding R$ 4,4 Thousand.
The São Luís Campus of the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA) is accepting applications for a new selection process aiming to hire an adjunct professor. Two positions are being offered in the UFMA teacher contest, one in the Field of Philosophy and the Other in the Field of Nursing.
Requirements to Participate in the Selection Process of the Federal University of Maranhão
The opportunities are for Basic, Technical, and Technological Education (EBTT) Teachers, who develop activities related to teaching, research, and extension at UFMA, as well as assistance at the institution as provided for in federal legislation.
The workload for those approved is 40 hours per week and the initial salary is R$ 4,485.18. The Philosophy position is targeted at the subject of Studies and Research and requires a Degree in Philosophy. The Nursing position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with Teaching Qualification or Pedagogical Training.

In addition, to compete in the UFMA contest, candidates must present the required graduation diploma for the position, compatible with the profile indicated in the announcement, be a natural-born or naturalized Brazilian, be up to date with military and electoral obligations, and have the physical and mental capacity to perform the duties of the position.
It is also necessary not to hold multiple positions, jobs, and public functions, contrary to constitutional provisions, to be enjoying political rights, not to have suffered, while in public service, penalties incompatible with the appointment to a federal public position, and not to receive retirement benefits that characterize illegal accumulation of positions.
Registrations for the UFMA Contest Until October 11
The pre-registration for the selection process of the Federal University can be made from September 11 to October 11, 2024, through the website of the Integrated System for Human Resource Management (SIGRH) of UFMA. A fee of R$ 250.00 must be paid. To request registration, the candidate must attach the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae in the Lattes/CNPq Platform model (curriculum only);
- Individual Taxpayer Registry/CPF (waived if included on the Identity Document);
- Identity document with photo, valid nationwide;
- Document proving military service status for male candidates, in cases provided by law, except for foreign candidates;
- Graduation diploma(s) accompanied by the corresponding Academic Transcript. If the diploma was issued by a Foreign Higher Education Institution, it must have been validated in the country.
The UFMA contest will include selection methods such as written exam, didactic test, defense of the research project, and evaluation of titles. The research project is mandatory for the positions available for a workload of 40 hours with full dedication. The written exam, according to the announcement, will consist of an essay on a randomly chosen topic from the program developed by the academic unit promoting the contest.
