In 2025, Usiminas Strengthens Social, Cultural, and Educational Actions with Direct Investments and Tax Incentives Reaching Hundreds of Thousands of People in São Paulo and Baixada Santista
In this context, according to the Census of the Group of Institutes, Foundations, and Companies (Gife) 2024/2025, Private Social Investment continues to grow in Brazil. Therefore, since 67% of organizations prioritize education, Usiminas maintained this focus and, still in 2025, invested directly R$ 75 thousand in the Excellence Scholarships program.
As a result, the program awarded high school technical students from ETEC de Cubatão and the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of São Paulo. After selection based on technical criteria and tests, each student received R$ 2,500, along with a recognition medal. According to the student Ana Clara Gomes de Assunção from ETEC de Cubatão, the funds will allow for the purchase of a laptop, which directly boosts her studies.

Meanwhile, social investments also enhance the company’s sustainability performance. Thus, the recognition from B3 confirms ESG practices, transparency, and corporate governance.
According to André Chaves, Director of Institutional Relations and Communities, in a statement made in 2025, each initiative reinforces proximity to the territories. Thus, each supported project generates real positive impact, strengthening communities and promoting joint development.
Moreover, in Cubatão, the Partner School program completes three consecutive years of operation. In 2025, between September and December, the project held 17 art-education actions at the Geraldo Cardoso Guedes Educational Complex in Jardim Nova República. Thus, 250 students, from 1st to 5th grade, participated in workshops, shows, workshops, and cultural contests.
According to the director Luciana Morais, cultural activities positively impact learning. Since the first edition, therefore, the Partner School has promoted 61 actions in three schools, benefiting nearly 800 students, always aligned with the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC).
At the same time, Usiminas used tax incentive mechanisms to expand social reach. In 2025, the company allocated R$ 1.6 million to six projects in culture, sports, social, and health areas. Among them, the Steel Race, held at Parque Anilinas in Cubatão, brought together 3 thousand participants, in 5 km and 10 km routes. As a result, nine tons of food were collected, distributed to more than 500 families through the Social Fund.
Additionally, the project Back to School transformed, in 2025, two schools in Cubatão with graffiti interventions. According to Luciana Rezende, director of UME Usina Henry Borden, the initiative strengthened pedagogical work and stimulated belonging, diversity, and creativity.
