A Strategic Partnership Marked by Macron’s Visit to São Paulo
Veolia, a global giant in environmental solutions, and Braskem, a pioneer in biopolymer production, are elevating their collaboration to new heights with an ambitious focus: the decarbonization of the industrial complex in Triunfo, Rio Grande do Sul. This collaboration, reinforced during a significant economic event in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron, aims to implement innovations that promise to significantly reduce carbon emissions.
Since 2021, the partnership between these two industrial giants has already contributed to the annual reduction of 150,000 tons of greenhouse gases (GHG). Now, with the expansion of this agreement, it is expected that the reduction of CO2e will reach an additional 500,000 tons per year, a considerable milestone for sustainability and the fight against climate change.
Shared Commitment to the Environment
The joint mission of Veolia and Braskem goes beyond the business realm, closely aligning with global goals to combat climate change. In accordance with the Paris Agreement, the initiatives developed will seek to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy alternatives in steam production, essential for Braskem’s operations in the south of the country.
