The Volkswagen Nivus went through that basic mid-life facelift, and VW tried to make it more sophisticated. Some changes stand out:

Redesigned front end, following the line of the ID electric vehicles.

Darkened 17” wheels, giving it a sportier look.

IQ.Drive package, now with lane assist and emergency braking.

Updated interior but still without power seats.

Reality hit hard: the Nivus no longer sells as it used to. In January 2023, there were 3,500 units registered. Now, in January 2025, the number has fallen to 2,915 units. A drop of 16%, even with the market growing 4% in the same period.

Guess what changed? Yes, the price.

The Volkswagen Nivus Highline Outfit 2025 starts at R$ 160,000, but with all the options, it easily hits R$ 170,000. And then comes the question: who will pay all this for a compact SUV when they can get a larger and more powerful model for the same price?

Does the Volkswagen Nivus Highline Outfit 2025 Justify This Price?

The strong point of the Nivus is the technology. The new VW Play Connect multimedia center comes with an integrated internet chip and allows control of various functions via mobile. The assistance package has also improved, now with lane centralization and emergency braking.

Here’s the problem. The rear space is tight, so if you intend to carry adults in the backseat, they might not be very happy. The 415-liter trunk is one of the best in the category, but does it justify the sacrifice of internal space?

Performance and Consumption

The 1.0 TSI engine with 128 hp from Volkswagen pushes the car well, but it’s not a rocket. Fuel consumption with ethanol is also not impressive:

It’s enough for the daily use, but for this price, a stronger engine would be nice.
