Partnership with Nvidia and Google Could Be the Brand’s Key Differentiator
According to Henrik Green, Chief Technology Officer of the Volvo Car Group, Google, which was the first company announced in the partnership, is one of the biggest leaders in user experience and services, given its operations from Google Maps to Google Assistant. Meanwhile, NVIDIA plays a significant role in providing Volvo with the fastest and best computers available in the market.
Green emphasizes that the companies are building a new and simplified experience together to optimize safety. He states that this advancement with strategic partnerships, like those with Google and NVIDIA, is a more effective process than trying to continue doing everything on their own.
The CTO also points out that this model of developing the operating system increases work speed and allows Volvo’s electric cars to evolve more quickly over time with all updates.
New Electric Cars from Volvo Will Use Artificial Intelligence in Their Operating System
The Swedish manufacturer also stated that it is focusing much of its attention on the computing of electric cars with a new proprietary operating system, which will be equipped for the first time in a model to be unveiled next year.
The integrated system combines three computers that possess an operational view, general computing, infotainment, and most importantly, Artificial Intelligence. The company stated that NVIDIA and Google are also working to assist in this system. While the former works on the main systems, the latter is a partner in developing the infotainment systems of the electric cars.
