Free technical training combines distance learning, in-person practice, and apprenticeship contract in partnership with XCMG Brasil, with selection by electronic lottery and monthly scholarship for candidates who meet the requirements defined by IFSULDEMINAS.

The Federal Institute of Southern Minas Gerais has opened applications for 45 spots in the subsequent technical course in Mechanics, offered in the EaD modality by the Três Corações Campus, in partnership with XCMG Brasil, for entry in the second semester of 2026.

The training is free, integrates the Young Apprentice Program, and includes in-person practical activities at the XCMG unit and at the IFSULDEMINAS campus, in addition to a monthly remuneration of R$ 1,425.97 for selected students.

Applications are open until May 29, 2026, exclusively online, with a fee of R$ 10.00 and the possibility of exemption for candidates who meet the socioeconomic criteria provided in the notice.

Technical course in Mechanics combines EaD and practice at XCMG

The subsequent technical course in Mechanics will last 18 months and combines theoretical activities in a virtual environment with in-person practical classes and experiences, in a model linked to the Young Apprentice Program.

The offer is governed by Notice No. 124/2026 and was structured to serve candidates who have already completed high school, with professional training connected to the work environment at the partner company.

According to the notice, the course requires attendance both at XCMG, in Pouso Alegre, and at the Três Corações Campus of IFSULDEMINAS, making it mandatory to be available to fulfill the practical workload defined in the program.

In addition to remuneration, IFSULDEMINAS informed that selected participants will have access to benefits offered by the company, such as medical, dental, and pharmacy agreements, life insurance, food allowance, attendance award, gym agreement, and chartered transportation in Pouso Alegre.

Who can apply for the Young Apprentice vacancies

To participate in the selection, the candidate must have completed high school by the date of the enrollment request, reside in Pouso Alegre, be between 18 years and 22 years and 6 months old at the time of enrollment, and be available for in-person activities.

The maximum age rule does not apply to people with disabilities, as provided in the notice based on Decree No. 9,579/2018, amended by Decree No. 11,479/2023.

Male candidates must also present proof of discharge from military service when requested by the Permanent Selection Process Commission of the Três Corações Campus.

The requirement for residence in Pouso Alegre was justified by XCMG for operational reasons, as the company stated it can only provide transportation within the municipality.

Reserved seats and open competition in the technical course

The notice provides for 45 seats in total, with some allocated for open competition and some reserved for candidates under affirmative action policies, including people with disabilities and students from public schools.

The distribution includes 21 seats for open competition, as well as reservations for PwD, public school students, black, brown, and indigenous candidates, people with a per capita family income of up to one minimum wage, and quilombola candidates.

To prove gross family income per person, the notice considers the documentation indicated in the selection process and follows assessment rules based on the family’s income, according to the criteria set for federal institutions.

The reference minimum wage mentioned in the notice for income-based reservations is R$ 1,621.00, a value used to verify candidates’ eligibility for specific categories.

Selection by electronic lottery and admission exams

The selection process will have three eliminatory stages, starting with the analysis of mandatory requirements, conducted by COPESE of the Três Corações Campus, before participation in the electronic lottery.

In this first phase, the commission checks points such as completion of high school, residence in Pouso Alegre, age range, availability for in-person practice, and military documentation, when applicable.

The second stage will be the electronic lottery, intended only for candidates deemed eligible in the initial analysis, without the application of tests, curricular grades, or classification by academic performance.

The lottery is scheduled for June 15, 2026, at 2 PM, with the result announced on the same day at 4 PM, according to the schedule published on the official selection process page.

After the classification, the third stage will be under the responsibility of XCMG, which will conduct the admission exams for the called candidates and will contact them by email to guide the necessary procedures.

The schedule provides for admission exams for those classified in the first call between June 15 and July 3, while the general call will have exams between July 20 and August 7, if there are candidates called in this phase.

Enrollment at IFSULDEMINAS and start of classes

After the admission exams, candidates classified in the first call must submit their enrollment request between July 7 and 10, 2026, according to the official calendar released by IFSULDEMINAS.

The notice also provides specific stages for candidates called in affirmative action modalities, including heteroidentification procedures and document submission, within the deadlines defined for each call.

The start of classes will occur according to the calendar of the campus responsible for the offer, and the notice itself advises candidates to follow possible changes, corrections, and calls on the official channels of IFSULDEMINAS.

How to enroll in the free technical course in Mechanics

Applications for the free technical course in Mechanics at IFSULDEMINAS must be made exclusively on the institution’s entrance exam page until May 29, 2026, at 5:59 PM, with payment of the R$ 10.00 fee by June 1, during banking business hours.

Before confirming participation, the candidate must check if they meet the age, education, residence in Pouso Alegre, and availability requirements for in-person activities at XCMG and the Três Corações Campus.
