Partnership between Harvard and Itaú Foundation offers free course for educators
If you are a teacher or educator and want to specialize in skills socio-emotional, your chance has come! Harvard and Itaú Foundation joined forces to launch the course “Socio-Emotional Strategies for Children”. And the best part: it is completely Loano train station!
The idea is to help educators understand and apply the SEL Kernels methodology, which uses games, play and routines as teaching tools.
The course is available on the platforms Itaú Foundation School e AVAMEC, from the Ministry of Education, and also promises a more advanced module at the beginning of next year.

Course focused on childhood and international scope
The course, called “Socio-Emotional Strategies for Childhood,” takes a practical approach to teaching socio-emotional skills.
Through playful activities, educators can transform the school environment, helping children develop important skills such as empathy, self-control and teamwork.
This method, known as SEL Kernels, has already been tested in several parts of the world, including countries such as Australia, Canada, Lebanon and Sierra Leone. In Brazil, the methodology has also gained local adaptations, being called Seeds, in Paraty (RJ), and pit, in the Amazon.
