DOF Subsea and TechnipFMC announced that the Skandi Olinda, a flexible vessel flying the Brazilian flag owned by the joint venture formed between DOF (50%) and TechnipFMC (50%), has commenced its 8-year contract with Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras).
The Skandi Olinda features cutting-edge pipeline and marine technology. It has a vertical layer system (VLS) tower capacity of 340 tons *, a 2,500-ton carousel, and two work-class ROVs **, allowing it to install flexible pipes at water depths of up to 2,500 meters. It was built at the Brazilian shipyard Vard Promar, where a replica with the same specifications, the Skandi Recife, was also constructed.

Under the DOF / TechnipFMC joint venture contract, TechnipFMC will manage the flexible pipelay and DOF will be responsible for marine operations.
