New Lenovo tablet, the Legion Y700, arrives in August with 5G connection, SIM chip support, 50 MP camera, and RGB ring light.
Lenovo confirmed for August 2026 the launch of the new Lenovo tablet aimed at the gaming audience. The model will be the Legion Y700, a compact device from the Legion line that will have 5G connection, SIM chip support, and an RGB lighting ring integrated into the rear camera module.
The manufacturer released a teaser of the product and confirmed the device’s design, which had already appeared during the Nuclear Fusion Game Carnival 2026 event in Shenzhen. The image shows a redesigned back, with a finish linked to the visual identity of the Legion family.
In addition to the gaming proposal, the tablet should also meet productivity and entertainment uses. The presence of 5G expands access to mobile internet, while information disclosed by a Chinese leaker indicates that the device may also make phone calls.

New Lenovo tablet will have a design inspired by the Legion line
The Legion Y700 adopts a different rear design compared to previous models of the family. Lenovo presented the device with a finish that reinforces the association with the Legion division, used by the brand in products aimed at games.
The most visible element is the circular lighting positioned around the camera set. The RGB ring light can be customized, adding a visual feature to the tablet’s body. The 50 MP inscription next to the camera indicates that the main sensor will have this resolution.
Design points already confirmed
- rear with new finish;
- visual identity of the Legion line;
- RGB ring light in the camera module;
- main sensor indicated as 50 MP;
- compact format within the gaming proposal.
The design was previously shown at the Nuclear Fusion Game Carnival 2026, but now it has become part of the manufacturer’s official communication.
5G connection and SIM chip
Lenovo also confirmed that the Legion Y700 will feature 5G network support. The feature will allow the use of a SIM chip for mobile internet access, expanding usage possibilities outside of Wi-Fi networks.
This feature differentiates the device within the category of compact gaming tablets, as it allows maintaining its own connection during games, calls, browsing, and online tasks.
According to information released by a Chinese leaker, the device will also accept phone calls. The information emerged after users questioned on social media about the presence of this function.
Phone calls expand use beyond gaming
Support for calls places the Legion Y700 in an intermediate position between a gaming tablet and a productivity mobile device. With SIM chip, 5G, and calls, the device can be used in situations where the user does not rely solely on Wi-Fi or another phone for connection.

Lenovo has not yet disclosed all the details of the technical specifications. Even so, the set of features already confirmed indicates that the product was designed for uses beyond gaming. Expected functions include media consumption, multitasking, communication, and activities that require constant connection.
New Lenovo tablet expected to occupy premium range
The Legion Y700 Ultimate Edition is considered a high-level version within the line. The complete technical specifications have not yet been presented by the manufacturer, but the expectation around the model is linked to the tradition of the Y700 family, associated with compact tablets focused on performance.
The proposal informed by the brand brings together three main fronts:
- gaming;
- productivity;
- entertainment.
The premium positioning also appears in the use of the Legion identity, in the rear finish, and in the customizable RGB lighting.
Y700 line maintains focus on compact format
The Y700 is already associated with smaller tablets aimed at high performance. In the new model, Lenovo maintains this direction by preparing a compact gaming device with its own look and mobile connectivity features.
The company has not yet revealed information such as processor, battery, screen, memory, or storage. These details should be known when the complete technical specifications are presented.
So far, the confirmation involves the release month, 5G support, the use of a SIM chip, the presence of the RGB ring light, and the main 50 MP sensor.
50 MP Camera Appears in Official Teaser
The teaser released by Lenovo shows the 50 MP indication next to the rear module. This mark informs the resolution of the tablet’s main camera. The RGB lighting is integrated into the camera area, creating a visual element that matches the device’s gamer proposal.
The presented material does not detail the number of sensors, photography modes, or video features. These specifications still depend on a complete announcement from the manufacturer. The debut of the Legion Y700 is scheduled for August.
Lenovo has not yet informed all the markets that will receive the tablet nor presented a specific sale date outside the initial announcement. Prices or memory versions have also not been disclosed.
