Goodbye WhatsApp! As of July 2024, the app will stop working on several mobile models. Check now if your device is on the list and avoid unpleasant surprises. Get updated or be without WhatsApp!

Have you ever imagined what your life would be like without WhatsApp? The app that revolutionized global communication, allowing the sending of messages, photos, videos, and even making calls, is now about to have a significant impact on many users’ lives.

A recent update may mean the end of WhatsApp on several mobile models. Get ready, as this change may directly affect your device.

WhatsApp and Mobile Compatibility: What Changes in July?

With constant technological updates, WhatsApp, owned by Meta, needs to adapt its features to ensure security and efficiency. This unfortunately means that some older mobile models will lose compatibility with the app starting July 1, 2024.

According to the WhatsApp Help Center, certain devices no longer have the necessary capacity to support the new software and security updates.

Currently, WhatsApp works on the following devices:

  • Phones with Android OS 5.0 and later versions.
  • Phones with iOS 12 and later versions.
  • Phones with KaiOS 2.5.0 and later versions, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2 devices.

What to Do If Your Phone Is Not Compatible?

Users with devices that will become incompatible will receive a notification from the app to update the operating system. This notification is essential, as without the update, WhatsApp will stop working. The update should be done immediately after receiving the reminder.

How to Update Android:

  1. Go to Settings on your phone.
  2. Navigate to the System section.
  3. Check for available software updates and install them.

How to Update iOS:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select General.
  3. Tap on Software Update.
  4. Enable Download iOS Updates under Automatic Updates.
