Green hydrogen investment in Ceará will focus on the international market

Ítalo Freitas, Vice President of AES Brasil, who had the chance to get to know Complexo do Pecém up close, evaluated Ceará's potential to contribute to the decarbonization movement of the economy. According to the Vice President, Ceará has the ideal conditions for the production of hydrogen at a competitive cost.

Still according to Ítalo, AES Brasil, as it has the objective of contributing to its customers in decarbonization through clean energy, also wants to be in the green hydrogen industry in the future. The director of Green Hydrogen at AES in South America, Luis Sarra, says that the investment to be built in Ceará will be aimed at the international market through the export of clean energy, through the port of Pecém.

Ítalo added that technology can be one of the ways to decarbonize the economy, contributing to the large carbon-emitting industries in their mission to reduce emissions in their processes.
