Alvopetro Receives Authorization and Gas Pipeline Works Connecting the Caburé Field, in Camaçari, to UPGN in Mata de São João, Bahia, Should Begin in Early 2020
After obtaining the environmental authorization from Inema, with a two-month delay, the time has come for Alvopetro to secure authorization from ANP to begin the construction of the project.
The gas pipeline will connect the gas production from the Cardeal do Nordeste, Caburé, Caburé Leste fields, and an extension of the reservoir in block REC-T-212, all in the Recôncavo Basin, to Alvopetro’s UPGN in Mata de São João, where the gas will be treated before being directed to BahiaGás (the state distributor).
The ANP authorization was granted after a meeting this Wednesday (12/06), and Alvopetro will have the right to a share of the gas based on a production individualization agreement with Imetame, which is also developing a project in the region.

The project that, according to Alvopetro, faced a delay due to the time taken for the environmental license approval, consists of an 11 km pipeline, and a new plan anticipates the start of works in early 2020.
The Caburé Field
Alvopetro owns 49% of the Caburé gas field in the Recôncavo Basin and 100% of adjacent blocks, which leads the company to foresee excellent development opportunities in Bahia.
All transport and processing infrastructure for the gas will also be owned by Alvopetro.
The construction responsibility will be with Enerflex, which will also be the operator of the pipeline and installations, whose primary equipment has already been assembled and tested abroad, but has not yet been sent to the location, which has only received the pipes for the manufacture of the pipelines so far.
