New System Transforms Interface of Macs and Enhances Resources with Artificial Intelligence and Enhanced App Integration
Apple surprised the audience at WWDC 2025, held on June 9, by presenting the new operating system macOS Tahoe 26.
The highlight of the update is the new visual design called Liquid Glass.
This effect creates a sense of transparency in interface elements such as buttons, menus, and toolbars.
The result offers a sleek and modern aesthetic.
Additionally, users will be able to further customize icons and folders.
They will be able to choose between light or dark tones, translucent effects, and even emojis to facilitate organization.

This visual update will also be present in iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and watchOS 26.
This highlights Apple’s new aesthetic standard for 2025.
The name “Tahoe 26” follows a new naming logic adopted by the company.
Now, the numbers are associated with the forecast of future use, replacing the previous sequential model like that of macOS Sequoia 15.
Spotlight Becomes More Intuitive and Functional with New Search Capabilities
With the new version, Spotlight, the integrated search tool, has become significantly smarter.
The system now prioritizes search results based on the user’s personal relevance.
This applies to files, emails, events, apps, and even messages.
Not only that, but the user can easily filter specific types of content, such as only PDFs or emails from the Mail app.
Furthermore, Spotlight now has the ability to perform actions directly from the search.
Now, it’s possible to open podcasts, create notes, or send messages without opening other apps.
These improvements aim to increase productivity.
They make navigation smoother and centered around the daily needs of system users.
Apple Intelligence Expands Integration with Personalized Features and Live Translation
Another significant advancement in macOS Tahoe 26 is the expansion of Apple Intelligence.
The AI-based assistant now has new functionalities.
Among the main features is real-time translation of messages in FaceTime and the Messages app.
It converts texts and generates instant subtitles.
Additionally, the AI also provides the creation of personalized reminders.
It analyzes emails, websites, and notes to identify important tasks.
The integration with ChatGPT has been expanded.
Now, there is a greater variety of smart actions through personalized shortcuts.
With these improvements, Apple reinforces its commitment to artificial intelligence.
This feature is increasingly a central pillar of the user experience.

Updated Apps Ensure Superior Performance and More Customization
Furthermore, the system has also brought significant improvements to various native apps.
For instance, Safari received a new look, with floating tabs that simplify navigation.
As a result, the browser’s performance has also increased.
Now, it is up to 50% faster compared to Chrome.
This gain is even more evident on frequently accessed pages, according to Apple’s data.
In the case of the Photos app, there are more customization options.
This makes it easier to apply filters and sort images, thanks to the new integrated buttons.
Similarly, FaceTime has been redesigned with the Liquid Glass standard.
Thus, it gained quick access buttons for functions like SharePlay and live translation.
Finally, the new Apple Games app has been added to the system.
It provides quick access to games and optimized setup options.
This feature, by the way, reinforces Apple’s commitment to entertainment.
Availability and Models Compatible with macOS Tahoe 26
Apple has already made the first test version of macOS Tahoe 26 available on June 9, 2025, exclusively for developers enrolled in the Apple Developer Program.
Meanwhile, the company plans to release the public beta in July and expects to officially launch the system between September and October of this year.
To access the new system, users will need one of the following Mac models:
– MacBook Pro 2019 or newer
– MacBook Air with M1 chip or newer
– iMac 2020 or later
– Mac Mini with M1 or newer
– Mac Pro 2019 and onward
– All models of the Mac Studio
However, devices released before these, especially those with Intel chips, are not compatible. For this reason, Apple reaffirms its transition to its own Apple Silicon architecture, as well as establishing new standards for performance and energy efficiency.
