The Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (Ifes) is offering a unique opportunity for those who wish to learn Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) and contribute to social inclusion. Registration for the free Basic LIBRAS Course – Level A2 is open until August 24, 2025, with 40 spots reserved for the external community. Classes will be in-person, at the Center for Reference in Training and Distance Education (Cefor), in Vitória, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 2 PM to 4 PM, over a period of 15 weeks.
LIBRAS Course at the Federal Institute Focuses on Inclusive Communication
With a course load of 60 hours, the course follows the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), at level A2.
The goal is to equip participants to communicate simply and effectively in everyday situations, such as work, shopping, and personal interactions.

It is necessary to be available to participate in in-person classes and have access to a computer with internet to keep up with notices and supplementary materials.
Registration and Selection Process
Registration must be done exclusively online, with the submission of documents such as ID, tax ID, and proof of education.
If the number of applicants exceeds the available spots, an electronic lottery will be held on August 27, 2025, at 10 AM, streamed live on the Cefor YouTube channel.
The list of candidates eligible for the lottery will be published on August 25, and the selected candidates will have their documentation reviewed to confirm registration.
