In this scenario, the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Bahia (IFBA), Lauro de Freitas campus, has launched Public Notice No. 02/2024, aiming to select students for language courses, including English, Spanish, and Libras. These courses are an unmissable opportunity for those who wish to improve their language skills in a quality educational environment.

Courses And Places Offered By IFBA

The courses offered are part of Initial And Continuing Education (FIC) and will be provided in person, with a total workload of 45 hours each. In total, there are 315 places distributed among the following courses:

English For Beginners
Places: 75
Description: Designed for those with little or no knowledge of English, focusing on everyday expressions and simple communication.
English Conversation For Beginners
Places: 45
Description: Aimed at oral production at the beginner level, it seeks to develop communicative ability and fluency in English.
Basic English
Places: 5
Description: Covers familiar and everyday expressions, focusing on simple communication and comprehension of statements.
Pre-Intermediate English
Places: 15
Description: Allows students to understand frequent phrases and expressions, as well as communicate in simple tasks related to familiar topics.
Basic Spanish A1
Places: 25
Description: A dynamic course that teaches Spanish practically, focusing on linguistic and sociocultural competencies.
Spanish For Tourism 1
Places: 25
Description: Offers basic Spanish notions, aiming to facilitate dialogue and business relations in the tourism sector.
Basic Libras 1
Places: 25
Description: Seeks to spread the Brazilian Sign Language, providing general knowledge of the language and interactive practices.

Registration Deadline For IFBA

Registration will be open from September 16 to 25, 2024. Interested parties must access the link provided in the notice to complete the registration.

It is important to note that, for the courses of Basic English 2 and Pre-Intermediate 1, it will be necessary to take a placement test.

The selection of candidates will take into account criteria such as socioeconomic condition, performance in the placement test (for the courses that require) and the order of registration.

In case of a tie, additional criteria such as age and not being enrolled in another language course at the IFBA Language Center will be considered.
