He also noted that if a theft occurred, the responsible party was likely not a gold specialist. Even so, no immediate evidence linked the piece to a crime or disappearance.
Investigation sought the origin of the gold bar
Investigators treated the serial number as the main clue available to try to locate a possible owner or reconstruct the history of the object.
Police records and databases of stolen goods were consulted. Despite this, nothing was found that would allow the gold bar to be linked to any known occurrence.
The lack of traces left the case in a gray area. No further information emerged that could point to an identifiable owner during the investigation period.
There were also no reports of missing items that matched the recovered item. Without new elements, the investigation only progressed to the limits of the checks considered standard by the authorities.
