App update reaches more than 19 million families, expands inquiries about benefits, payments, and blocks, improves accessibility, and prepares a new portal with rules, service, calendar, and program guidelines
More than 19 million families served by the Bolsa Família app will have access, starting this Monday (05/18), to a renewed version for Android, with new services, inquiry of pending issues, and information about payments.
Bolsa Família App gains new functions
The update of the Bolsa Família app will be available for download on Google Play and was presented as a modernization of social services, focusing on accessibility, transparency, and autonomy for those receiving the benefit.
The redesign results from a partnership between the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger (MDS) and Caixa Econômica Federal, focusing on user experience and digital inclusion.

Wellington Dias stated that the new functions aim to make the service easier for the user. He highlighted that families will be able to access important information and understand, for example, the reason for the benefit block.
According to the minister, the app will also allow identifying which measures need to be taken to regularize the situation.
With this, the Family Responsible will have more clarity about payments, registration, and possible occurrences.
Inquiry of payments and pending issues
With the new version, the Family Responsible will be able to check details about the benefit status, the composition of payments, and any records linked to the registration, including pending issues that need to be resolved to maintain receipt.
Prior access to this information should speed up services at the Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) and other public services sought by beneficiary families.
Before traveling for guidance, the citizen can check on the Bolsa Família app what actions need to be taken. The measure aims to reduce doubts and facilitate in-person service when necessary.
Accessibility and simplified navigation
The app received accessibility improvements and is now compatible with screen readers, such as TalkBack. Navigation has also been simplified for more intuitive use.
Existing features, such as payment statements, program messages, and transfer calendars, have been optimized to offer a more efficient experience. The proposal is to gather updated and easy-to-find information.
Among the main functions are consulting benefit types, tracking monthly installments, checking payment dates, identifying situations that may interrupt the transfer, and accessing information about the program in an organized manner.
Other programs and new portal
The updated version will also allow users to learn about other programs of the Government of Brazil, with directed access to the pages of each initiative.
Wellington Dias cited Minha Casa, Minha Vida as an example of a possible search in this integrated environment.
On May 27, the MDS will hold an event at its headquarters in Brasília, with the presence of authorities, to present the updates and explain the operation of the tools available to users.
On the same occasion, an exclusive Bolsa Família website will be launched. The portal will gather payment calendar, benefit access, program rules, contact channels, frequently asked questions, and guidance for the assisted families, in a more accessible format.
