A Milestone in Wind Power Generation in Rio Grande do Norte
Aliança Energia celebrates a remarkable achievement in the expansion of renewable energy in Brazil, with the completion of the assembly of wind turbines at the Acauã Wind Complex, located in Rio Grande do Norte. This event, which took place on January 11, not only marks the conclusion of this critical phase of the project but also symbolizes the commitment of the company to operational safety and environmental preservation, as the process was carried out without incidents or negative impacts on the environment.
The Acauã Wind Complex stands out in the region, encompassing an installed capacity of 109.2 MW, distributed across 26 wind turbines. These are organized into four wind farms strategically located in Santana do Matos, Lagoa Nova, São Vicente, and Tenente Laurentino Cruz, divided into three Special Purpose Companies (SPEs). The project, initiated in 2021, progressed in phases, culminating in the commercial operation of two SPEs in 2023, and now, the complete assembly of the turbines from SPE I.
The Commitment of Aliança Energia to Sustainability
In addition to the significant contribution to the country’s renewable energy matrix, the completion of this stage of the Acauã Wind Complex signals Aliança Energia’s ongoing dedication to sustainability and safety. As emphasized by Carlos Henrique Afonso, Administrative Director of Acauã and Implementation Manager, the company spares no effort to ensure operational integrity and respect for the environment. This care is reflected not only in construction and assembly practices but also in the total investment of R$ 732 million allocated to the complex, reaffirming the company’s commitment to sustainable and efficient projects.

In the United States, 99% of all new electric capacity in 2026 will be from solar, wind, and batteries — totaling 86 GW in a single year, the largest jump since 2002, while natural gas accounted for only 7%.
Aliança Energia, based in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, is one of the leading forces in the generation and commercialization of electric power in Brazil. The company manages an impressive installed capacity of 1,298.6 MW, distributed among seven hydroelectric plants and two wind complexes, solidifying its status as a reference in clean and renewable energy.
The completion of the assembly of wind turbines at the Acauã Wind Complex is not only an operational milestone but also a testament to Aliança Energia’s commitment to generating sustainable, safe, and responsible energy, aligning with the environmental and economic goals of the country and the world.
