Event Brings Together Experts and Leaders from the Energy Sector to Discuss the Future of the Campos Basin and Boost Investments That Promise to Transform the Energy Matrix.
The Campos Basin will be the center of attention at the Connex-E Summit Preparatory, an event that will detail the more than R$ 130 billion in planned investments for the region. Organized by the Organization of Oil Producing Municipalities (Ompetro), the meeting will take place on December 3 at Sesi-Guarus in Campos dos Goytacazes, featuring major names from the energy sector, as well as authorities and specialists.
With a promise to generate over 25,000 jobs, the event addresses not only the future of the oil and natural gas industry in the Campos Basin but also the transition to renewable energies and hydrogen. According to Mayor Wladimir Garotinho, president of Ompetro, Connex-E is an opportunity to position the associated municipalities as protagonists in the national energy scenario.
Major Names and Strategic Topics
Confirmed participants include Symone Araújo, director of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), Roberto Ardenghy, president of IBP, and Rodrigo Lopes Sauaia, president of ABSOLAR. According to Marcelo Neves, executive secretary of Ompetro and Secretary of Oil, Energy and Technological Innovation of Campos, the initiative marks the beginning of a cycle of growth and innovation for the Campos Basin. He highlights that Petrobras, for example, is about to launch a new business plan for 2025-2029, with projected investments of more than US$ 22 billion in the region.
“Connex-E aligns with the new development expectations of the energy sector and paves the way for important debates that will culminate in a second round of discussions in Rio de Janeiro in 2025,” Neves states.
