Production testing at Sergipe's deepwater discoveries begins in November with a one-year delay due to problems with the FPSO Cidade de São Vicente.
If on the one hand the Petrobras races against time to place Sergipe basin to produce gas, on the other hand, informed the ANP that it intends to start the long-term test (EWT) on its oil discoveries in deep waters off Sergipe in November.
Problems that led FPSO Cidade de São Vicente to remain in maintenance delayed the project schedule by one year.
The long-term test (EWT) is a process, usually lasting 6 months, carried out to obtain more information about the wells and is essential to discover their viability. The TLD will be carried out by Petrobras to complete the exploration of several oil and natural gas discoveries in the Sergipe Basin.

The new project schedule was approved by the ANP board this Thursday (17/10) and was prepared after the one-year delay caused by cleaning the hull of the FPSO Cidade de São Vicente, requested by IBAMA.
The FPSO belongs to BW Offshore and the contract with Petrobras runs until the second quarter of 2020 and has the capacity to produce up to 30 barrels/day of oil, connected to a well.
With this schedule revision, the Cumbe, Farfan and Barra fields will have their campaign completed in December 2020.
Six years ago, Petrobras made discoveries of giant oil and natural gas reserves offshore Sergipe, with emphasis on natural gas and although it is selling part of the blocks and is looking for a partner, the state-owned company estimates the demand for two FPSOs in definitive production systems from 2020 onwards.
