Bahia Oil&Gas Energy 2024 begins this Wednesday, gathering key players from the oil and gas sector across the country. Taking place from May 22 to 24 at the Salvador Convention Center, the event will address the growth of the onshore market and the importance of independent companies in the oil and gas exploration and production sector.

Organized by Austral Energy Consulting in collaboration with the Polytechnic Institute of Bahia (IPB) and the Brazilian Association of Independent Oil and Gas Producers (ABPIP), the event will cover opportunities in exploration, production, refining, petrochemicals, naval, and energy integration in Northern and Northeastern Brazil. In this second edition, more than 10,000 visitors from at least 15 different countries are expected.
ABPIP and its member companies will actively participate in all discussions at the event, with a strategic booth located in front of the Main Plenary (No. 100, Wing A), facilitating meetings between operators and suppliers. According to Marcio Felix, president of ABPIP, the event serves as a national showcase for independents to demonstrate their business, technical, and socio-environmental achievements.
Important Lectures and Panels
Marcio Felix will kick off the event on the 22nd at 1 PM and will be one of the speakers at the ESG Arena at 6 PM, discussing “ANP’s Permanent Offering.” On the 23rd, Regina França from Eneva, a company associated with ABPIP, will speak about “Infrastructure, Market, and Gas Interiorization in the Onshore” at the GasNor Conference, at 2 PM. Also on Thursday, Felix will moderate the panel “The Dynamism of the Onshore Independent Market” at the PetroNor Conference at 4 PM. On the 24th, João Vitor Moreira, vice president of ABPIP, will discuss “Advanced Recovery in N/NE Fields” at the PetroNor Conference at 2 PM. The event will conclude with a session by ABPIP’s Executive Secretary, Anabal Santos Jr., at the ESG Arena, discussing “Due Diligence, ESG, and Small Businesses in the Oil and Gas Sector” at 4 PM.
Supplies Forum and ABPIP Day
During the event, ABPIP will promote the I Supplies Forum for Oil and Gas in partnership with Sebrae Onshore, on May 24, from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. The forum will take place in the Congress Room at the Salvador Convention Center, with free registration available at the link: registration. The event will discuss the importance of intelligence in the supplies area, presenting success cases and purchasing strategies for critical categories.
Additionally, ABPIP will hold an exclusive meeting for its members, the ABPIP Day, on May 23 from 9 AM to 12 PM. This year’s theme will be “The Challenges of Independent Oil and Gas Companies in Brazilian Energy Integration,” featuring Symone Araújo, director of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). The goal is to strengthen relationships and discuss the current landscape of the oil and gas sector in Brazil from the perspective of independent companies.
Bahia Oil&Gas Energy 2024 promises to be a significant milestone for the sector, highlighting the relevance of independent companies and the emerging opportunities in the onshore market.
