Among the factors are the skilled labor of the state’s residents, the fact that Bahia is located in a strategic position at the gateway to the Northeast, and the strong incentives provided by the State government, which were the main reasons for the partnership between Boticário and Camaçari. According to Sérgio, the solid relationship with the State began in 2014 with investments in the factory at the Camaçari hub and also in the distribution center in São Gonçalo, which generated numerous jobs.

Building a 95-square-meter house in 2026 can start at around R$ 185,000 at the reference base and exceed R$ 330,000 in high standard, but the final cost depends on the land, finishing, fees, and the region, with the South of the country being among the most expensive in Brazil.

A small church built in 7 weeks in 1961 stands surrounded by skyscrapers in Balneário Camboriú, the city with the most expensive square meter in Brazil, accommodating only 60 people and defying decades of verticalization and luxury on the coast of Santa Catarina.
Thus, this relationship over the last 7 years has only grown, and currently, next week, the company will discuss another significant phase, which is the construction of the beauty hub in Bahia. According to Sérgio, the company is making investments of R$ 600 million, but on other occasions, if we sum up the investments made since 2015, it totals approximately R$ 1.5 billion.
When Boticário built its unit, a large portion of its products was sourced from suppliers in the Southern region of Brazil. Therefore, the group extended the invitation after solidifying its presence in Bahia to attract these suppliers to the state.
Many New Jobs Will Be Created in Camaçari
At this moment, Grupo Boticário is inaugurating three large companies that handle the packaging sector, which are Aptar, Printec, Box Print, and Vitro. These three companies will significantly contribute to the job creation that the group will make, as they together will create more than 600 direct jobs and more than 600 indirect jobs in Camaçari, Bahia.
Boticário is concerned with the sustainable development of its investments. In fact, its buildings have Leadership in Energy and Environmental Development (LEED) certifications. These companies that hold these certifications are those that, from their construction to their operation, respect sustainable development.
Boticário Seeks Sustainability in Its Operations
Currently, over 97% of Boticário’s products have sustainable characteristics. According to Sérgio, in 5 years, the company will have 100% of its products recycled. Furthermore, 65% of the group’s products are already vegan and not animal-derived.
Another notable point is that the new factory already produces 100% clean energy, and the company is carbon-positive. Thus, the amount of emissions the group generates when producing and transporting compensates with two large reserves in the South and Midwest of the country, where the capture of CO2 creates a negative effect.
