Investment Will Drive the Modernization and Expansion of 2 Thousand Assets, Contributing to Pollution Reduction and Greater Productivity in the Transport and Logistics Sector
The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) approved a robust financing of R$ 850 million for Vamos Locação de Caminhões, Máquinas e Equipamentos S.A., controlled by Simpar. Aiming to renew and expand its fleet, the company will use the funds to acquire 2 thousand assets, including more modern and less polluting trucks, as well as various machines and equipment, according to the news agency agênciadenotíciasbndes.
This investment operation is aligned with environmental goals and productive efficiency, especially regarding pollution reduction and increased road safety. The action comes at a crucial moment for the company, which leads the heavy vehicle and machinery rental market in Brazil, currently operating with a fleet of over 50 thousand units.
Fleet Renewal and Positive Environmental Impact
With an estimated fleet of 50.3 thousand vehicles and machines, Vamos is already a reference in the rental sector. Now, with the support of BNDES, the company will take another important step towards sustainability. The new financing line, expected to be used over two years, will allow for the acquisition of less polluting vehicles, in compliance with the PROCONVE 8 standards (Euro 6), which came into effect in January 2023.

Goodbye, Brazil: Brazilians claim to be ‘oppressed’ and head to Paraguay in search of a ‘right-wing dream’ with 10% taxes, energy up to 2.8 times cheaper, and 23,500 residency applications in 2025.

The implementation of this new fleet promises to reduce pollutant gas emissions by up to 75%, a significant advancement compared to previous standards. Additionally, Vamos also contributes to lowering the average age of trucks in circulation in Brazil, currently around 12 years, according to Sindipeças. In other words, “fewer old trucks on the road“, which means more safety, productivity, and efficiency on the roads.
Contribution to a Green Economy
According to the president of BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante, the investment is directly linked to the government’s commitment to decarbonization and the development of a green economy. The project is part of the New Industry Brazil (NIB) agenda, which aims not only to modernize the industrial sector but also to align its practices with the climate commitments made by the country.
“The R$ 850 million financing for Vamos is a key piece in this process, as it encourages the purchase of less polluting trucks. This reinforces our commitment to decarbonization,” said Mercadante. The amount will be granted through the Finame Direto line, integrated with BNDES Machines and Services, with the advantage of a simplified operational flow in direct operations with the bank.
Growth of Vamos and Commitment to Sustainability
Vamos, a pioneer in the rental of trucks, machines, and equipment in Brazil, continues to grow rapidly. Controlled by Simpar, the company has a wide network of stores distributed throughout the country. Among the brands it works with are heavyweight names like Volkswagen Trucks and Buses, Fendt, Valtra, Komatsu, and Toyota Forklifts. In addition, the company has 16 used vehicle stores, ensuring a varied range of solutions for its clients.
Since its IPO in 2021, Vamos has shown a strong commitment to transparency and sustainability, winning, in its first year, the Transparency Trophy from ANEFAC. In 2023, the company became part of the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) and the Efficient Carbon Index (ICO2) of B3, recognizing the company’s dedication to the ESG agenda.
With the support of BNDES, Vamos is positioned to continue expanding sustainably while meeting the growing demand for more modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly vehicles and machines. The company has stood out as a leader in promoting a more green and safe future for the transport and logistics sector in Brazil.
Modernization That Drives the Economy
In addition to environmental benefits, the investment in fleet renewal also promises to boost the economy, promoting job creation and greater productivity in the transport sector. With newer and more efficient vehicles, the company improves competitiveness while aligning with global demands for sustainability and operational efficiency.
Thus, the partnership between BNDES and Vamos serves as a clear example of how public financing can drive sustainable growth for a company, benefiting not only the business but the country as a whole.
