Strategic Meeting Addressed the Results of the First Public Call for the Acquisition of Renewable Fuel and the Fundamental Role of Petrobras in the Energy Transition.
The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and Petrobras held a meeting this week. The meeting served to present the results of the first Public Call aimed at the acquisition of biomethane. Discussions focused on the prospects for the expansion of this market.
During the meeting, representatives from Petrobras detailed the data obtained from the Public Call. The mapping of the existing supply of biomethane was addressed. The growing interest of different Brazilian regions in providing the renewable fuel was also noted.
Strategic Role of Petrobras in the National Energy Transition
The Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, participated in the meeting. He emphasized the strategic role of Petrobras in the country’s energy transition. “Petrobras plays a fundamental role in building a fair, inclusive, and balanced energy transition,” said Silveira. The minister highlighted that the consolidation of the biomethane market is essential. This will allow for the increased use of renewable fuels. Additionally, it will generate new economic and social opportunities for Brazil.
