Strengthening The Era Of Clean Energy, BYD Now Guides Solar Projects From Conception To Connection
Although recognized for its impressive production of 2.3 million photovoltaic modules in Brazil, BYD Energy is taking a further step by offering EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) services for large solar plants. This comprehensive package includes everything from the preparation of preliminary studies and plant sizing to the completion of construction and commissioning phases.
The Trajectory Of A Solar Project From BYD’s Perspective
The company, with a history rooted in sustainability, not only in manufacturing electric cars but also in solar energy solutions, aims with this initiative to expand and consolidate the clean energy sector in the country. “Our engagement goes beyond merely offering products. We wish to consolidate the clean energy segment and bring our experience and deep technical knowledge to develop green solutions and high-quality services,” shares Sócrates Rodrigues, project director at BYD Energy.

Committing to deliver “energy as a service,” BYD takes responsibility from assessing the client’s energy demand to post-installation maintenance, which can last from 6 to 12 months. Initially, engineers with extensive project development experience dedicate themselves to providing tailored solutions to meet needs, always respecting regulations and using cutting-edge software. All this ensures accuracy, cost control, and relies on the valuable support of a dedicated BYD team.
As it progresses to the procurement planning stage, the supply team springs into action, optimizing supplier selection, streamlining import and nationalization processes, and addressing logistical issues.
Subsequently, construction is entrusted to renowned partners with proven expertise in all areas, such as electrical, civil, and mechanical. This phase is completed with monitoring and management of the work, ensuring quality, minimizing risks, and with the support of a dedicated legal team.
“EPC is not just another service in our extensive range of offerings. It is a key piece that reaffirms our ongoing commitment to sustainability, significantly contributing to the global goal of reducing carbon emissions,” concludes Rodrigues.
BYD In Brazil: A Brief Retrospective
Since its arrival in 2015, BYD has been a pioneer in various fronts in Brazil. Its portfolio ranges from the production of electric buses and photovoltaic modules to the development of SkyRail in São Paulo. Additionally, it embraced the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic by providing disposable masks and recently began selling electric vehicles in the country. In 2022, BYD Energy inaugurated new facilities and presented a new range of photovoltaic modules, reaffirming its commitment to clean energy and innovation in Brazil.
