The automaker GAC recently launched the second generation of the Aion V in China, a new electric SUV from GAC that is part of the company’s global sub-brand. GAC has ambitious plans to open a car factory in Brazil, where the electric models of Aion are among the most considered.
New Electric SUV From GAC Revolutionizes Range And Powertrain
The new Aion V from GAC has received a significant makeover, especially in the front, which now features larger headlights and a new bumper with revised air intakes. At the rear, the lights of the new electric SUV from GAC are now arranged vertically, promoting a more modern and attractive design.
In terms of dimensions, the 2024 Aion V is slightly smaller than its predecessor. The vehicle, which offers great range, currently measures 4.60 m in length, 1.85 m in width, and 1.66 m in height, with a wheelbase of 2.77 m. The trunk has an initial capacity of 427 L, which can be expanded to 987 L with the seats folded down.

The automaker GAC offers two powertrain options for the Aion V, both with a single electric motor. The base version produces 203 hp and 24.47 kgfm of torque, while the more powerful version generates 224 hp while maintaining the same torque. Both accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
New Electric SUV From GAC Delivers 750 Km Of Range In The Base Version
The Aion V is available with lithium iron phosphate batteries of various capacities, including 62.3 kWh, 62.7 kWh, 75 kWh, 75.3 kWh, and 90.2 kWh. According to the CLTC cycle, these batteries offer ranges of 520 km, 650 km, and 750 km, respectively. With the 400V charging architecture, the batteries can recover up to 370 km of range in just 15 minutes of charging.
The combination of motors and batteries is available in 11 different versions, which vary according to the equipment packages offered. All models come equipped with a 14.6-inch multimedia center and an LCD digital dashboard.

The interior of the Aion V is filled with state-of-the-art equipment. Highlight features include metal air vents and door handles, as well as an illuminated bar on the dashboard.
The SUV also comes with two induction chargers, one for the driver and another for the passenger, and a 6.6-liter compartment that can cool down to -15°C or heat up to 50°C. The model also includes the following features:
- Cooling and heating compartment;
- LCD digital instrument cluster;
- 14.6’’ multimedia center;
- Illuminated bar on the dashboard;
- Two induction chargers;
- Metal air vents and door handles.
When Will The New Electric SUV From GAC Arrive In The Automotive Market?
One of the major attractions of the new electric SUV from GAC is its advanced autonomous driving system, the ADiGO Pilot, managed by the NVIDIA Orin-X chip. In the more sophisticated models, the SUV is equipped with a lidar on the roof, millimeter-wave radars, 11 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, providing the vehicle with intelligent and radical driving.
In China, the new electric SUV from GAC has prices ranging from 129,800 to 189,800 yuan. Although GAC has not yet confirmed which models will be brought to Brazil, some cars from the Aion line were showcased during a visit by Chinese executives to the state of Amapá, one of the locations considered for the new factory’s installation.
