Since December, federal highway police have been able to access images directly from their posts, optimizing enforcement.

This integration allows for a faster response to critical situations, such as instances of dangerous driving or suspected intoxication.

In addition, the cameras are equipped with high-resolution technology that allows for details such as license plates and driver behaviors to be identified.

Heavy Penalties for Violations

Those who improperly use the shoulder are subject to a fine of R$ 880.41. However, in cases of prohibited overtaking, this amount can reach R$ 1,500.00.

Additionally, offenders accumulate points on their driver’s license, which can result in other penalties.

The PRF reinforces that, in addition to issuing fines, agents are prepared to stop drivers in more serious situations, ensuring that the roads are a safer place for everyone.

The operations are supported by trained teams to identify other risky behaviors, such as speeding, using a cell phone while driving, and disrespecting signals.

Expansion of Technology

According to CCR ViaSul, the concessionaire responsible for managing the freeway, the plan is to expand the use of these cameras to other highways under its administration.

Among them are BR-101, BR-386, and the Parque Road. This measure aims to extend the coverage of enforcement and ensure greater safety on the roads.

The company has already invested millions in the acquisition and installation of these devices, which use artificial intelligence to automatically analyze images and identify possible violations. This advancement reduces the need for human intervention, making the process faster and more efficient.

Moreover, CCR ViaSul plans educational campaigns alongside the implementation of the cameras, aiming to inform drivers about traffic rules and the consequences of breaking them.
