In addition to electric bicycles, BNDES announced it will finance R$ 8.2 billion for the planting of 342 million native trees in the Amazon.

The estimate presented is that the project will remove from the atmosphere an amount of carbon equivalent to three years of emissions from the vehicle fleet of the city of São Paulo.

Assets reach R$ 1.15 trillion

Mercadante also announced that the institution’s assets reached R$ 1.15 trillion on May 31. Previously, they were at the level of R$ 650 billion.
