New Chinese military technology puts the US and other powers on alert. Meet the new GDF-600 hypersonic vehicle that can reach speeds of Mach 7.

New Chinese military technology: During the Airshow China 2024, held in Zhuhai, China surprised by revealing the concept of GDF-600, a hypersonic vehicle designed for high-speed operations and multiple strategic roles. This advanced technology highlights the country's growing military investment in cutting-edge systems, cementing its position as a leader in military innovation. The announcement of the GDF-600 not only demonstrates China's technological prowess, but also leaves global powers such as Russia and the United States, on high alert, as the hypersonic vehicle could reset the global strategic balance by reaching Mach 7.

China's new GDF-600 hypersonic vehicle could reach Mach 7

Developed by the Guangdong Academy of Aerodynamics Research (GARA), the new Chinese military technology is highlighted by its ability to reach speeds of up to Mach 7, equivalent to 8.500 km/h, and a maximum flight range of 600 km.

China's hypersonic vehicle can carry a variety of submunitions, including supersonic missiles, drones and loitering munitions, totaling up to 1,2 tons in payload.

This new Chinese military technology could pose a significant challenge to Taiwan and the United States' defensive capabilities in the Pacific region, given its potential for rapid and precise strikes on diverse targets.

O The War Zone portal, who covered the event in China, points out that the GDF-600 hypersonic vehicle can not only carry out kinetic and electronic warfare attacks, but is also capable of carrying out reconnaissance missions, expanding its operational versatility.

The hypersonic vehicle’s ability to deliver submunitions mid-flight is a notable technical advance, although it still presents significant challenges due to the high speeds involved. If developed and deployed, the new technology could significantly enhance China’s hypersonic arsenal, with important implications for regional security, especially in the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea.

China also showcased other technologies during the event

In addition to this new Chinese military technology of GDF-600 hypersonic vehicle, the country also presented other initiatives at the event. The fair, which ran for six days in November, highlighted a series of new systems of state-of-the-art weapons, a sign of Beijing's ambitions to rival US military capabilities.

In addition to the GDF-600, the country presented the castealth aircraft J-35A, developed to compete with Washington's F-35s. After more than a decade of development, the long-awaited jet positions the country as the second nation, after the United States, to operate two types of stealth fighters.

The J-35 is capable of performing air combat missions and precision strikes on land and sea targets, a significant advancement in Chinese military technology.

The event also featured an area dedicated exclusively to drones, reflecting their increased relevance on the battlefield.

The devices are being used extensively in the war in Ukraine, both on the side of Moscow and Kiev. The technology could also be used in a possible escalation against Taiwan, an island considered by the Chinese government to be part of its territory.

United States is not left behind and announces upgrades

With this new Chinese military technology, the United States also wasted no time and revealed to the world the long-awaited sixth-generation fighters, a milestone that promises to completely transform the future of aviation.

The US's sixth-generation fighter jets promise to change global defense with advanced artificial intelligence, adaptive stealth technology and an engine that combines 30% more power with 25% less fuel consumption.

Being the result of a investment of US$ 4,4 billion, this model is not just an aircraft, but a technological leap that changes aerial combat and puts the country decades ahead of its global rivals. At the heart of this advancement is the adaptive cycle engine, the result of billions of dollars of investment by major US defense companies such as Pratt & Whitney and General Electric.

China's scientific and technological strength is surprising. Not only in the military area, but in many other areas. As the philosopher once said (with all due respect): "One Embraer alone does not make a summer". Wake up, Brazil!

Brazil waking up? I've already lost hope. In fact, it died in the 1990s.

8.500 km/h speed and 600 km range? Its flight doesn't last 5 minutes... Something is not right.

It's strange, but it could be... If it's not a typo, you could almost hit a target in Curitiba by firing the hypersonic vehicle from Rio de Janeiro. Not bad. It's a snap! The Chinese aren't going to reveal all the secrets of the device either...

This was done to hit a single, special target (like a command headquarters).

I'm amazed at the money they spend on military daughters who don't get married!?
With billions for the armed forces lol
1 American aircraft carrier anchored in RJ is enough to make the third world country 'crouch' lol
A part of your taxes goes to maintain this 'troop' of leeches

This autonomy, in theory, can be extended up to 6000 km.
I read some details of the project in Mandarin, however, the weight of the added fuel will change some aspects of the mission.
It will all depend on the purpose of the mission.
In general, at Mach 7, anyone who has operated one of these systems knows that there are maneuverability problems... there is no way to think of anything other than targeting and detonation.

It will always be a very big dispute between the 3 because I don't rule Russia out of this game.
Let's see how the proxy wars go.
We have a lot at stake in these stages, with various weapons being tested.
