Free Driver’s License for Students: Program Offers 10 Thousand Slots in Piauí with All Costs Covered by Detran
In an unprecedented initiative for inclusion and citizenship, the Government of Piauí launched a program that promises to change the lives of thousands of young people. Applications are open for the Student Social Driver’s License, which will offer 10 thousand free slots for the first category A (motorcycle) driver’s license in the state. This joint action between the State Department of Education (Seduc) and the State Department of Transit (Detran -PI) targets public school students and represents an important step in democratizing access to the right to drive.
Detran Offers Live Theoretical Course Free of Charge
The theoretical training has a workload of 45 hours and will be held on Saturday mornings, live, through the Education Channel, the state’s official platform. The classes will be conducted by instructors accredited by Detran – PI.
In addition to being free, the course is extracurricular and mandatory for approved candidates, forming a fundamental stage of the process. The distinguishing factor is that the student will not pay for any of the stages — from the theoretical part to the practical part. All registration fees, exams, and driving lessons will be fully covered by the Detran’s free driver’s license program.
