In Total, It Is Estimated That the Company Has Already Manufactured More Than 1 Million Vehicles, Both for Brazilians and for Abroad. The Plant Was Inaugurated in 2012.

The Toyota plant located in Sorocaba (SP) was one of the first to consider Ecofactory technology, where the company was seeking sustainable solutions for the environment without compromising its productivity.  The initial investment for construction, according to the institution, was R$ 1 billion, receiving more than half of all investments from the automaker in the country, opening various job opportunities for professionals with and without experience, regardless of higher education.

Toyota: The Company That Managed to Double Its Production Capacity

The Toyota plant had the capacity to produce about 74,000 vehicles per year when it was inaugurated in 2012. However, it now has the capacity to produce around 158,000 vehicles per year, with sedans being the majority. After the inauguration in Sorocaba (SP), they also decided to expand their portfolio to countries such as Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, capturing a significant share of sales in South America.

Today, more than half of all vehicles produced by the automaker, about 47,000 of them, are exclusively intended for the South American market.

Rafael Chang, president of Toyota Brazil, says they achieved this entire expansion process thanks to the efforts and teamwork of all their employees.

Attempt to Achieve Sustainable Development Without Losing Productivity Is One of the Focuses of the Plant in Sorocaba, São Paulo (SP)

Toyota claims that it is adopting strategies for sustainable development in the short, medium, and long term to meet the needs of Planet Earth in reducing the effects that the automotive sector has on global warming.

For example, with an eco-efficiency system, the industry does not impact the residents of Sorocaba (SP) with the improper disposal of waste.  In addition, the goal is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and other greenhouse gases.  Not to mention that one of the institution’s projects is to significantly reduce water consumption.

Now, they recycle at least 99% of all waste generated in their operations, also relying on solar renewable energy units that allow for savings and an end to dependence on coal and oil. Thus, they can also significantly reduce the circulation of diesel trucks.

Finally, it is worth mentioning the project the company had at its foundation: to plant trees on a large scale in its fight against deforestation. Today, the forest is in its mature phase and contains more than 134,000 trees being cultivated with about 143 species, which are spread over an area dedicated to 4 hectares. Therefore, Toyota’s sustainable actions contribute to improving the quality of life, fauna, and flora in the region.

Many Job Opportunities

In addition to the company moving towards a more sustainable path, Toyota offers various job opportunities for electricians, mechanics, and other candidates without higher education or experience, allowing more professionals to enter the job market. Applications for the selection processes occur through the Kenoby.
