Monteiro Network campaign reduces gasoline price to show the weight of taxes on fuel and will have different dates at five stations in the region
Drivers in Campinas and Sumaré, in the interior of São Paulo, will have access to gasoline at R$ 4.24 per liter in a special action for Tax-Free Day.
The campaign, promoted by Monteiro Network, starts this Wednesday, June 10, and aims to practically show how much taxes weigh on the final price of fuels.
In total, 50,000 liters of gasoline at a reduced price will be offered. Additionally, each participating station will have a limit of 10,000 liters available.

Currently, according to the organization, a liter of gasoline costs around R$ 6.49 at stations in the region. Therefore, the difference will be absorbed by the network itself, without passing it on to consumers.
Tax-free gasoline will have a limit of 30 liters per vehicle
To increase the number of drivers served, each consumer will be able to refuel up to 30 liters at the promotional price.
Additionally, the organization informed that there will be distribution of tickets. This way, service should occur with more control and less inconvenience.
The sale will always start at 9 am. However, refueling will only continue until the end of the 10,000 liters planned for each unit.
According to Juliana Monteiro, director of the network, the campaign grew after the good response from the previous edition. At that time, only one station participated in the initiative.
Now, the expectation is to reach thousands of drivers in the region.

Tax-Free Day aims to show the impact of the tax burden on fuel
The action also aims to broaden the debate on the tax burden in Brazil and its effects on family budgets.
According to data from the Brazilian Institute of Planning and Taxation (IBPT), in 2026 taxes represent about 41.1% of the average income of Brazilians.
This percentage corresponds to approximately 150 days of work per year dedicated to paying municipal, state, and federal taxes.
In this scenario, fuels remain among the most monitored items by consumers, as they directly affect daily expenses.
For Rede Monteiro, which has been operating for more than 40 years in the fuel sector, the initiative goes beyond the temporary discount. According to the company, the main objective is to encourage reflection on the taxation applied to products and services sold in the country.
