Free Course Teaches Fundamentals and Applications of Generative Artificial Intelligence for Basic Education Teachers, with Online Classes, Free Certificate, and Spots Filled on a First-Come, First-Served Basis.

The Ministry of Education (MEC), in partnership with the Foundation for Research Support of the Federal District (FAPDF), has opened registrations for the free online course “Generative AI in Education”, which offers 40 hours of content and a certificate of completion.

There are 3,706 spots available, filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The course is self-instructional and can be started immediately after enrollment.

Participants have between 10 and 120 days to complete the training path.

The issuance of the certificate is conditioned to a minimum score of 75% on the assessments.

This initiative is part of the National Strategy for Connected Schools (ENEC), a program focused on technological integration in public education.

Free Course Aimed at Basic Education Teachers

The course was developed primarily for basic education teachers, focusing on the application of artificial intelligence in pedagogical practices.

According to MEC, the self-instructional format allows educators to set their own study pace and apply the content flexibly, according to the context of the school where they work.

The spots are limited and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Course Structure and Content

The content is divided into modules covering everything from introduction to artificial intelligence to the use of generative AI in educational contexts.

Among the available materials are texts, video lessons, interactive activities, flashcards, and flowcharts.

According to MEC, the resources were developed to facilitate the understanding of concepts and encourage the responsible use of technologies in the school environment.

The course also includes diagnostic assessments and complementary materials, which include case studies and suggestions for further exploration.

The goal is for participants to understand the possibilities and limitations of generative AI in the teaching-learning process.

Emphasis on Security and Ethical Use

According to the organizers, one of the objectives is to promote the ethical and safe use of artificial intelligence in the educational context.

The content addresses issues such as data protection, authorship, and reliability of information, topics that have been widely discussed by experts in technology and education.

The approach follows the guidelines of ENEC, which aims to train education professionals in digital competencies.

Workload and Certification Criteria

The training has a duration of 40 hours and can be completed in up to 120 days, respecting a minimum period of 10 days after the start.

During this period, participants must complete all mandatory activities and achieve at least 75% accuracy on assessments to receive the free certificate.

The course allows students to retake exercises and review content within the stipulated time frame.

Context and Relevance of the Initiative

The advancement of generative AI tools, such as text and image assistants, is transforming different areas, including education.

Experts point out that becoming familiar with these resources is important for teachers and administrators to understand their functionality and adopt pedagogical practices aligned with ethical principles and transparency.

ENEC, a public policy linked to MEC, was created to enhance connectivity and digital training for educators.

The generative AI course is part of this context and is included in the axis that addresses the pedagogical use of technologies in public schools.

Modules and Learning Paths

The modules include an initial assessment, introductory content on artificial intelligence, and a specific segment on the application of generative AI in the classroom.

The topics cover theoretical foundations, tool analysis, and examples of integration into the curriculum.

The supplementary materials stage provides texts and links for further reading, as well as resources that assist in reviewing the concepts.

The self-instructional format offers greater study autonomy and progress tracking directly on the digital platform.

Insertion in the National Strategy for Connected Schools

According to MEC, the ENEC aims to strengthen the technological infrastructure of public networks and expand the pedagogical use of digital technologies.

The generative AI course complements other training actions aimed at digital inclusion and teacher training in competencies related to educational innovation.

How to Participate and Obtain the Certificate

Registrations are done online, and the spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. After confirmation of enrollment, the participant has immediate access to the platform and content.

The system tracks individual progress and releases the certificate as soon as the participant reaches the required minimum average.

MEC recommends that interested individuals start the course as soon as possible, as spots are limited.

This opportunity provides free access to digital resources and content related to one of the fastest-growing areas in the educational field.
