Seven Stations Were Fined for Irregularities and a Clandestine Gas Resale Was Closed During Joint Action Coordinated by the MP-Procon in Campina Grande
A regulatory operation carried out in Campina Grande fined seven fuel stations and shut down a clandestine LP Gas resale. The action took place on Tuesday (13) and Wednesday (14) and was coordinated by the Consumer Protection and Defense Program of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Paraíba (MP-Procon).
The inspection involved various agencies, including the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), the State Superintendence of Environmental Administration (Sudema-PB), the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro), the Regional Council of Engineering (Crea-PB), and the Military Fire Brigade.
Among the main focuses of the operation were the verification of fuel quality, compliance with technical and safety standards, and the transparency of information provided to consumers. Ten stations were inspected and seven showed irregularities.

Irregularities and Fines
Four of the fined establishments violated consumer protection regulations. One of them did not have a lightning protection system (SPDA).
Two others did not present the mandatory inspection kit from the ANP and did not correctly inform the name of the fuel supplier, a requirement for unbranded stations.
Problems were also noted regarding the lack of functioning tire gauges, the absence of clear information about the origin of the gasoline (refined or formulated), and the lack of a visible price list comparing hydrated ethanol and gasoline.
Fuel Analysis
During tests conducted by the ANP, a sample of ethanol was collected from one of the stations after it did not meet the minimum standard required in the graduated cylinder test. The material will be analyzed in a laboratory, according to the technical specifications established for this type of fuel.
On the other hand, Inmetro did not identify problems related to the amount of fuel dispensed by the pumps at the inspected establishments. The flow rate was within standards.
Gas Depot Closed
The operation also resulted in the closure of a clandestine LP gas resale. At the location, seven cylinders were found stored next to bottles of mineral water, in a garage, without compliance with safety standards.
The ANP required the responsible party to return the cylinders to the supplier within 48 hours and send a receipt for the delivery. Additionally, an immediate suspension of gas resale activities at the address was decreed.
The fined companies have ten business days to present a defense. They may be penalized under the Consumer Defense Code and State Complementary Law 126/2015.
