Santa Maria City Hall (RS) Opens Registrations for Public Competitions with 55 Vacancies in Various Areas and Salaries of Up to R$ 15,271.97.
The Santa Maria City Hall, located in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul, recently launched two new announcements for public competitions. The goal is to fill 55 vacancies and create a reserve list in various areas, including positions requiring elementary, middle, technical, and higher education. The selection is being organized by the La Salle Foundation and promises opportunities for candidates with different levels of education.
Details of the City Hall Competition
Registrations for the competitions will be open from July 16 to August 14, 2024. The objective test is scheduled for September 15, 2024, with specific dates for each group of positions.
The salaries vary and can reach up to R$ 15,271.97, depending on the position.

The offered positions are distributed across three announcements, as detailed below:
Announcement 01/2024:
- Various other teaching positions in Elementary Education, including subjects such as Arts, Sciences, Physical Education, Spanish Language, Geography, History, English Language, Mathematics, Music, Portuguese Language, Theater, and Special Education (positions for reserve list);
- Teacher for Early Years in Elementary Education (1 vacancy);
- Teacher of Technical Drawing (1 vacancy);
- Teacher of Early Childhood Education (1 vacancy);
- Teacher of Electricity, Mechanics, Metallurgy (positions for reserve list);
- Psycho-pedagogue (1 vacancy).
Announcement 02/2024:
- Community Health Agent (27 vacancies);
- Public Health and Environmental Surveillance Agent (1 vacancy);
- Various technical and specialized positions, such as Nursing Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Radiology Technician, Social Worker, Biomedical, Nurse, Family Health Physician, Psychologist, and Physical Education Professional (1 vacancy each).
Announcement 03/2024:
- Administrative Agent (1 vacancy);
- Various positions in areas such as Agricultural Technician, Accountant, Social Educator, Electrical Engineer, Forestry Engineer, Geologist, Municipal Attorney, Industrial Chemist, Tourism Specialist, and Sign Language Interpreter and Translator (1 vacancy each);
- Driver for Passenger and Cargo Transport (1 vacancy);
- Road Machine Operator (1 vacancy).
Benefits and Salaries
The public servants of Santa Maria will receive, in addition to salaries, benefits such as a food allowance of R$ 451.62 and transportation assistance.
Other benefits and bonuses may be granted, depending on the position and current legislation.

Registrations must be made exclusively online through the La Salle Foundation’s website.

The registration period is from July 16 to August 14, 2024. Registration fees range from R$ 50.00 to R$ 140.00, depending on the position.
For candidates who do not have internet access, the City Hall provides a computer at the Municipal Administration and People Management Secretary, located at Rua Venâncio Aires, 2277, Municipal Administrative Center, in Santa Maria-RS.
Service hours are from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
Selection Stages
The competition will consist of several stages, including:
- Objective Tests: These have an eliminatory and classificatory nature for all positions. The tests will be held on different dates according to the position:
- September 15 for Teaching and Psycho-pedagogue positions
- September 29 for Community Health Agent, Nursing Technician, and others
- October 13 for positions such as Road Machine Operator, Accountant, Engineer, and others
- Title Tests: Exclusive for Teacher, Psycho-pedagogue, and Municipal Attorney positions, with a classificatory nature.
- Practical Tests: For Driver for Passenger and Cargo Transport and Road Machine Operator, with an eliminatory and classificatory nature.
- Discursive Tests: Exclusive for the Municipal Attorney position, with an eliminatory and classificatory nature.
The contents of the objective tests will be divided into:
- Specific Knowledge;
- Legislation;
- Portuguese Language;
- Logical Reasoning.
For the Municipal Attorney position, there will be an additional test on specific legislation.
The competition will be valid for up to two years from the date of approval of the results, and may be extended for another two years.
