Petrobras will invest in thermal generation plants at Comperj, the company President announced an agreement with Equinor after ruling out the construction of a refinery at the site, as we announced here at Click Petróleo e Gás last Thursday, December 12.

According to the president, “CNPC was not interested in the project”. Furthermore, the executive stated, “it would be contradictory for Petrobras to sell its refineries and build another”. He added that studies with the Chinese company CNPC showed that constructing a refinery at Comperj would be economically unfeasible.
