Almost 4,000 job vacancies in Goiás for the construction of the first and only multimodal logistics platform of the North-South Railway, between the stretch of the city of Porto Nacional (TO) to the municipality of Estrela D’Oeste (SP). The mayor of Rio Verde, Paulo do Vale announced the excellent news during a press conference on Wednesday, the 11th, “It will be the second largest platform, losing only to the one in Rondonópolis (SP).”

The company responsible for the implementation will be Grupo Rumo Engenharia, which is already responsible for other ventures of this type in São Paulo.

The investment will be around 400 million reais, with R$ 160 million in 2020, and another R$ 140 million in 2021. “Approximately 1,600 jobs will be generated initially, aside from the 500 jobs from the company responsible for the production of the tracks that is already underway, and then during the operational phase, an additional 1,800 job vacancies, including 800 direct and 1,000 indirect. In addition to all the truck drivers and other professionals that will be drawn to this venture,” described the mayor.

The Secretary of Sustainable Development, Denimárcio Borges, states that entities like Senai, will help with the necessary training so that everyone can participate in job opportunities. “According to Proden (Rio Verde Development Project), 70% of jobs are legally required to be locally hired,” the mayor added.

According to the mayor, “technical studies proved that the first area could not support the venture, but a new technical study found a new area, which is even close to the initial area, which will not go unused, as other companies are already interested in using the area and settling in our region with the arrival of the Platform.”

The president of the Rio Verde Development Council (Coderv), Eduardo Lobo, added that entrepreneurs in any investment will have support from the entities to participate with this growth and progress with the arrival of the Platform.

The documents for the venture are scheduled to be signed on December 19, with the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, and the governor himself expected to be present.

According to the president of Comigo, Antonio Chavaglia, this achievement will directly impact the sale, distribution, and delivery of raw materials produced in Rio Verde and the surrounding region, especially concerning grains.
